We all need a place to Breathe, to Imagine, to Become. Art is that
place for me. I love creating for the joy it brings. It is through the
creative process that I found healing.
I wouldn’t
have guessed that as a survivor of abuse, molestation and bullying that
art would pull me from the depths of depression. It did! There is
wholeness to combining colors and words to create something meaningful
and beautiful.
I love painting in acrylics as it provides vibrant
colors as well as quick drying time. That’s important to me since my art
has layers. Layers are like little stories. These stories may be seen
or not, but they are as important to the painting as our stories are
important to our lives. I incorporate mark making using sticks, pine
needles, pinecones, shells, leaves, pencils, charcoal, graphite, art
bars and many other fun things.
I imagine myself painting “Healing
and Wholeness”. We all have a story to tell. That’s why the heart is so
important to me. It represents Love through which there is healing and
wholeness.
I have always loved writing and journaling. I have two
published books, Heart In Pieces Made Whole and The Other Side of
Whole. These books are poetic journeys from trauma and abuse to healing
and forgiveness.
It’s all connected.
It is my desire to be a beacon of light in order to spread healing and wholeness through creative expression.
